also I need to make a proper post about it but I can't stop thinking about The Goblin Emperor...
#for many reasons but specifically the language aspects#I've toyed with the idea of using thou/thee informal second person in DaDBaB basically since its genesis#specifically for the past timeline bc there would be some language change across the timeskip#but I always worried it might be kind of off putting#but it worked so well in TGE that I'm considering it much more seriously#also the formal first person which I wouldn't use but I loved it in that book! worked amazingly!

Okay, now I'm intrigued by both Goblin Emperor and DaDBaB (incredible acronym by the way). What's the deal with the timeskip? Do you have past and present timelines running throughout the book, or does one finish and then the other begin?
My Legacy series has a major timeskip of thousands of year between POV characters, and I've always wanted to do something with the language to show this, but I'm worried about making it unreadable. Funnily enough it's also currently all written in formal first person, but I was planning on changing that.
